5 Simple Second-Day Hairstyles

Let’s face it… we’ve all had those mornings that somehow just get away from us. You might hit snooze one too many times or maybe breakfast took a little bit longer to make than usual. Whatever the reason, these five easy second-day hairstyles will have you looking gorgeous even when you’re in a pinch!

  1. Bubble Braids

Bubble braids are the ‘it’ hairstyle right now. And the good news is, they actually work best on second-day hair. Start by tying your hair into a ponytail and adjust it to be as tight or relaxed as you’d like. Then take another hair elastic and tie it a couple of inches further down your ponytail. Simply tease the space between each elastic and repeat until you reach the bottom.

  1. Looped Half Bun

Half-buns are a girl’s best friend when putting off a day of hair washing. First, separate the top half of your hair and tie it into a tight ponytail. Then twist your loose hair around the base of the elastic and fasten it with bobby pins or another elastic. If you want some extra volume or height, you can always tease your loose hair or gently tug your ponytail.

  1. Knotted Ponytail

Knotted ponytails are easy to pull off and look so chic! Just separate your hair right down the middle into two sections. Then take one section in each hand and crisscross them pulling the right side over the left. Find the opening with your fingers and thread one side through the hole. You can secure the knot by pulling each side tight and pinning them down. Finish the style off with an elastic just below the knot.

  1. Face-Framing Twists

Twists are by far the most hassle-free option on this list. All they take is just two bobby pins (and maybe two minutes)! Grab small, even sections of your hair that frame your face. From there, simply twist and pin them back. For more of a creative twist, you can also braid the strands of hair. Either way, this look is gorgeous and finished in minutes.

  1. Braided Ponytail

Braided ponytails might look complicated, but they’re actually so easy to style on second-day hair! First, tie your hair back into a ponytail. Then take a small section of hair and wrap it around the elastic and secure it with a bobby pin. Create three equal sections of hair and start braiding them by crossing the left side over the middle section and the right side over the new middle. Continue until you reach the bottom and hold it in place with an elastic!
