While we always love classic blonde and brown hues, we’ve also made a list of our favourite experimental balayage colours for those a bit more daring.
Blorange
This uniquely beautiful mix of blonde and orange has been one of the trendiest colours this year. As is often the case, there are plenty of colour options that can be considered blorange – ranging from bright and dramatic to more subtle copper and strawberry blondes.
Rose Gold
While similar to blorange, this colour falls more on the pink side. This is a great option for those wanting a more gentle pop colour without being too bright or overwhelmingly pink (although that can also be really cool). This colour is extremely flattering and we expect to see it everywhere this year.
Ashy Blonde
Ashy blonde has mad a major style comeback lately – and we think it’s here to stay! While before this was achieved with toners, now it’s done by painting on ashy undertones and lowlights. In other words, balayage! The colour results can vary from pearly to even ice-blonde, depending on your style preferences.
Dark Balayage
As the above suggests, balayage isn’t just for blondes or lighter colours. By mixing lighter blondes with darker browns or lowlights, this option adds an edgy, Christina Aguilera-inspired twist on a classic balayage. This is a great option for anyone who tends to go longer in between colours.
Mermaid
If you’re looking for something completely original, than mermaid-inspired hair colours might be perfect for you. There are a variety of sea and coral reef-inspired colours for you to choose from, including pinks, purples, blues, greens, turquoise, and even a combination of all of these.
